We at the Sickle Cell Association want to share something with you that reflects beautifully on our cause and our association. On June 30th 2022, our President, Dr. Edda Hadeed, was awarded the Governor General’s Faithful and Meritorious Service Award for “faithful services in public health”.

Dr. Hadeed says: “I feel very honoured to have received this award. What I love about this is, that it shows that Sickle Cell Disease is being acknowledged. It’s like saying ‘Yes, what you do is necessary and important.’ And let’s face it, we have achieved quite a bit already. I want to thank all of you who help and contribute to our work, each in his or her own way. I could not do it without you.”
